Lighting
I regularly work as a lighting Crew Chief/dimmer tech. I am happy to turn my hand to any task necessary to make the show happen. I have a good working knowledge of a wide range of intelligent lighting, LED fixtures and control systems.
I have also toured as a production rigger. I learnt my craft in the days before rigging was a separate touring discipline from lighting, but have continued to developed my knowledge with formal training and informal research. Over the years I have gained extensive experience of touring many different venues around the world.
In conjunction with touring I have also worked on many large scale events, festivals, theatre productions and outside broadcasts. With my experience working across different sectors of the lighting industry I find it easy to adjust to the different working environments of each and can often adapt techniques from one sector to another.
I have also turned my hand to lighting design from time to time but this has mainly been in the outdoor event sector and conferences. I have experience with Avo-lite consoles.
I frequently have many repeat bookings for tours and events and have many happy clients . I am renowned for having a good attitude to my work, an even temperament and of working well together with my colleagues from other departments.
A more comprehensive list of tours, shows, festivals and events I have worked on can be found in my CV
Please follow this link and this link to the Entec Sound and Light web site for a news story about shows I have been involved with for them.
Production Management
I have worked as a touring technical manager, for the UK and international tour of the hit west end show 'Thriller Live' for over ten years. We have two scales of production, European shows are usually undertaken with full production support from the UK, For the shows further afield we use local production with some special items supplied from the UK.
The European show, tours with full arena production in three to five articulated trailers across Europe and Scandinavia. This involves me in close liaison with our local partners both in advance and during the tour ensuring the shows run smoothly and in the day to day running of the show in all the territories visited.
We have also taken the show out to the Middle East, China, South Africa, India and Japan, Brazil, S. Korea, Australia and Malaysia. On these long haul trips, I had to oversee the delivery of local production elements and integrate them with our touring equipment. Apart from the day to day technical management of the show I also coordinated with local promoters, their technical representatives and the venues. It is my task to ensure that all our production needs are met from quality control of locally sourced set elements, drawing up production schedules, approving venue rigging plots, through to checking adequate plumbing arrangements for our wardrobe department.
This has given me a great deal of experience with the challenges of touring a large scale show across a very wide variety of venues from ice arenas to small provincial theaters I have had to call upon my many years of touring experience to adapt the show to ensure that we always presented the best possible show despite condition of the local venues and I have learnt that calm flexibility is an essential skill in this role.

Dear all at Flying Music
I want to thank you all for a great great show. The responds I got from all our partners have been nothing but
overwhelming and amazingly good.
Everybody think it’s the best show we have presented so far and I must admit I think the cast has been fantastic.
A big special thanks to Phil, Leo and Sharleena for a great cooperation. It has been a pleasure working with you
and it made my life so much easier with your professionalism, personalties and great attitude. I hope you are
not too tired after the dreadful last day to Stockholm, thanks for the extra hard work to get that done on the
most professional way as well!!!
Inspite of the difficult selling enough tickets we are most definitely bringing the show back again in about 2
years time. The show is simply too good to not come back and I will do my uttermost to make it happen, be sure
of that!!!
PS! Please send my best regards to Adrian Grant. It was an honour and a pleasure finally meeting him. Great
guy!!!
Kind Regards
