Freelance Lighting Technician and Production Manager

For over Thirty years I have worked as a lighting technician across all sectors of live entertainment production.
These include, rock and roll tours for artists such as Jess Glynn, Little Simz, Fontains DC, The Sugarbabes, The Waterboys,  The Editors, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull fame, Jools Holland, Runrig, Tool, Dru Hill, Steve Via,The Saw Doctors, Bjorn Again, Babyshambles, The Divine Comedy, music festivals including Reading Festival, Wilderness, Creamfields, Latitude, The Electric Picnic (Ireland), V Festival, Glastonbury and Cornbury, as well as conference and exhibitions, outdoor events TV, radio, touring and rep theatre.

I have experience handling many different types of kit from intelligent lighting fixtures, lighting control systems, rigging and Power distribution systems, both on tour and for outdoor events. My different roles over the years have given me a invaluable insight into the workings of all the many diverse systems that come together to produce a modern live event package.

I also work as a Touring Production Manager for the international theatre tour of 'Thriller Live' the West End musical taking the show across Europe, Scandinavia and also to China, India, South Africa, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Macau, Kuwait, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.  I undertook advance production work on the UK debut of the hit broadway rock musical, American Idiot and then went on to provide technical support to the tour. I have also undertaken several European tours as stage manager for Runrig including their 40th anniversary concert in Inverness during the summer of 2013 and work on the lighting team on their farewell concert at Stirling Castle in 2018

Current and future projects include working on Creamfields  a summer concert serise for AEG and various other festivals and events over the Summer
 

I am Norwich based but regularly work across the UK and Europe. I am happy to work at any level required within a project team, whether leading or working under the direction of others. I approach projects with a flexible attitude and I am always keen to apply knowledge learnt in one sector of the industry to a new situation in another.
